Covid: This Odisha district prohibits entry of visitors to temples

Nuapada: With an aim to contain the spread of Covid-19 virus, the Nuapada district administration today prohibited the entry of visitors and tourists into its popular temples and tourist destinations.

In an order, the Nuapada district administration stated visitors and tourists are not allowed inside Yogeswar temple, Patora; Jaleswar temple, Tikhali and Shiv temple, Patalganga.

Also, tourists are not allowed to visit Patora dam site, Tikhali dam site and Patalganga.

The order further stated religious rituals will be allowed as usual at temples or places of worship with limited number of persons while adhering to Covid-19 protocols strictly.

The district administration also stated for marriage related functions, maximum 100 persons will be allowed with strict adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour and maintenance of social distances.

For death rituals related functions, maximum 50 persons will be allowed with strict adherence to Covid appropriate behavior.

The order comes into effect from April 6, 2021 until further directive.
