CREDAI to construct over 6,000 affordable houses in state

The Odisha Chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) has planned to construct over 6,000 units of affordable houses for lower and middle income groups in the state.

“These houses, within a range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, will be developed very soon. While around 11,000 units of houses worth Rs 8,000 crore are under construction, plans are afoot to build more houses with an investment of around Rs 6,000 crore, said joint secretary of the CREDAI Odisha Chapter Nitish Ranjan Nanda here. Of the 11,000 houses, around 30 to 40 per cent are ready for occupation, he said.

CREDAI is scheduled to organise the fourth edition of its annual expo at the Janata Maidan here in the city from November 8. During the three-day exhibition, workshops and skill develop programmes for construction workers would be organised.
Besides, the Associations would organise ‘Statecon’, a workshop involving developers from across the state to discuss various problems being faced by them.
