CRPF Havildar shoots himself to death with AK-47 in Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: A CRPF Havildar allegedly shot himself to death with his AK-47 service rifle at Barkot CRPF Camp under Komna police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district, today.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Pratap (49) of Haryana.

According to reports, Ram Pratap was on duty at the guard room of the camp, this morning. While sitting on a bed, Ram Pratap pointed the gun towards his neck and pulled the trigger of the rifle.

He was rescued and rushed to the Komna Community Health Centre, where doctor declared him dead.

The reason behind the extreme step by him was yet to be ascertained.

On being informed, Komna police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
