Earthquake tremors felt in North India
New Delhi: Strong earthquake tremors were felt for several seconds across north India including the areas of Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan around 10.34 pm, today.
People in the areas were seen rushing out of their houses in fear.
According to National Center for Seismology, the epicentre of the earthquake was 21 km from Amritsar in Punjab with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km from the surface.
