Egg pelting at MP Baijayant Panda: Odisha police arrest six

Cuttack: A special team of Odisha police have arrested six persons in connection with the egg pelting at Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, informed Salepur SDPO today.

The arrested are identified as Sarat Jena, Sarat Maharana, Santanu Mallik, Rajesh Sahu, Santosh Jena and Sankarsan Mallik.

Worth mentioning, a case was registered into the incident under Sections 147, 148, 294, 323, 337, 355, 506, 149 of the IPC at Mahanga police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by Subhendra Nayak, a social activist.

Notably, several BJD workers, allegedly supporters of Mahanga MLA Pratap Jena, had reportedly pelted an egg at MP Panda which hit his head, after he inaugurated a drinking water project at Jatiparilo village under Rahania panchayat in Mahanga area on May 30.
