Fake note printing unit seizure: Accused arrested in Odisha capital

In a major breakthrough into the fake note racket in Odisha, one accused was arrested today from a slum in capital city.

Nayapalli police arrested accused Ratnakar Singh alias Daka from Salia Sahi just two days after fake note printing unit was seized in Bhubaneswar. He was arrested under section 420, 489 (c)(e) of IPC.

Daka hails from Betanati block in Mayurbhanj district.

Commissionerate police had formed a team headed by an ACP rank officer to nab the accused in connection with seizure of fake currency notes printing in Odisha capital.

Earlier, a college student from Baripada, Shagen Tudu was arrested while he was transacting a fake note Rs 500 at a shop in Sunagadia area. The locals apprehended him on suspicion and handed him over to police on March 9.

Baripada Town police raided the fake note printing unit in Salia Sahi on March 16. They seized fake currency papers, color printer and cartridge from the spot.
