Former sarpanch found dead in Odisha’s Angul

Former Sarpanch of Nagira panchayat Bhulu Behera was found lying dead at a crop field in Namagaon under Pallahada police limits in Odisha’s Angul district this morning.

The family members of the deceased have alleged that Behera was killed over past enmity. Police have started investigation into the incident after seizing the body.

According to reports, Behera didn’t return home last night following which his family members searched him and found his body at the field this morning. Police said that someone has crushed him to death with stone.

Sources said, Behera had a dispute with neighbour Ranga Behera two years ago over sorcery. Police suspect involvement of Ranga in the killing as he went absconding after the incident. However, he was later nabbed by police and detained for interrogation.
