Frequent road mishaps: Odisha minister seeks report from city RTO

Concerned over over frequent road mishaps at the busy Khandagiri Square in Bhubaneswar, Odisha’s minister for Commerce and Transport Ramesh Majhi today sought a report from the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Bhubaneswar on the causes leading to such accidents so as to plan and initiate steps for its prevention.

On the other hand, Commissionerate Police said it will be writing to the RTO for stricter checking of vehicle fitness and vehicles plying with fake registration numbers.

Also, steps are being taken to curb drunken driving by increasing the number of breath analysers, it said.
