Heat wave conditions to continue in Odisha for a week

Bhubaneswar, Mar 28:

Heat wave conditions will prevail over most parts of the state for the next one week, the meteorological office here said this afternoon.

Maximum temperature in most Meteorological observatories would cross the 40 degree Celsius mark today, the Met office said.

The present heat wave conditions have been caused by clear sky condition and absence of sea breeze, it said.

The temperature recorded in most cities of the state at 11.30 am remained above the normal temperature with Bhubaneswar recording the maximum of 38.8 degrees against the normal temperature of 36 degrees. The temperatures in the other major cities and towns were Chandbali-38 degrees, Jharsuguda: 37 degrees, Balasore-37 degrees, Sambalpur-36.6 degrees and Keonjhar – 36.4 degrees, the Met department said in a release.
