Home delivery of liquor in Odisha’s Cuttack from today

Cuttack: Online ordering and home delivery of liquor commenced in Odisha’s Cuttack district today. A decision in this regard was taken by the Cuttack District Foreign Liquor Traders’ Association after a meeting with Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani.

While orders can be placed between 7 am and 1 pm, liquor will be delivered at doorstep between 1 pm and 6 pm.

As the association opposed the delivery of liquor by Zomato and Swiggy, it has been decided that the delivery will be made by staffers of the respective liquor shops in the district.

“Agreeing for online trade by the liquor traders of Cuttack District from today onwards marks the beginning of a new mode of trading of this excise item. It will also help strengthening our state exchequer to fight against the pandemic COVID-19,” the Collector said in a tweet.
