International Yoga Day celebrated in KIIT, KISS

International Yoga Day was celebrated in KIIT and KISS today in Odisha capital. Thousands of staff, students and teachers of KIIT, KISS and KIMS assembled at 6:45 am in KIIT ground for practice yoga. At 7:00 am, yoga started as per schedule of national yoga ceremony. In KIIT, the yoga practice was lead by founder, KIIT & KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta.

Inaugurating the International Yoga Day Dr. Samanta said, yoga is the only way to free our body and mind from various illnesses. Yoga is a journey through the inner ‘self’ to connect to the supreme soul. Yoga and meditation are essential for every human as it relaxes mind and resists body, he added.

The United Nations has declared June 21, as the International Yoga Day. It is a matter of pride for all Indians that yoga which is part of our culture is getting such attention on an international platform. Among others, Prof. P. P. Mathur, VC KIIT University, Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar and other dignitaries, staff, students of KIIT, KISS and KIMS practiced yoga during the International Yoga Day celebration.
