Lightning claims three lives in Odisha

Muyurbhanj: At least three youths died after being struck by lightning at Badapathara village under Khunta police station area in Mayurbhanj district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Jamini Kanta Mohanta (22), Dibya Shankar Mohanta (26) and Koshish Mohanta (29).

As per information, the three youths were heading to a dam on the village outskirts at around 11 am today for fishing. Midway, heavy rain accompanied with lightning occurred in the region. The trio was charred to death on the spot after being struck by lightning.’

After getting to the know about the mishap, families of the deceased along with a firefighting team rushed them to Khunta Community Health Centre(CHH).

However, doctors at the healthcare centre declared them dead.
