Low Pressure: Heavy rainfall likely to lash these Odisha districts till September 11

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over westcentral Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. The system will trigger heavy rainfall across Odisha till September 11, the Regional Meteorological Centre here predicted.

A cyclonic circulation lies over eastcentral and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal and extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over westcentral Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre said.

Below is day-wise heavy rainfall forecast for various districts of the state.

September 7: Heavy rainfall ( 7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

September 8: Heavy rainfall ( 7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Khordha and Puri.

September 9: Heavy to very heavy rainfall ( 7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall ( 7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Malkangiri and Nuapada.

September 10: Heavy to very heavy rainfall ( 7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Khordha, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall ( 7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Sonepur and Bolangir.

September 11: Heavy to very heavy rainfall ( 7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Khordha, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall ( 7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Koraput, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Gajapati and Ganjam.
