State BJP pravari (in charge) Chandan Mitra today urged the party leaders to work towards a ‘Congress-free India’ and ‘Naveen-free Odisha’ in the run up to the 2014 elections.

“The Congress has ruined the country with rampant corruption during its reign. Now, the Shah Commission has nailed the BJD government for its involvement in the multi-crore mining scam. Now, the time has come to put chief minister Naveen Patnaik in the dock. We need to utilize the time properly and encash on the public anger to dethrone the government,” Mitra told party men at a meeting at BJP state headquarters here on Saturday.

Informing that the Modi wave across the country is growing faster, he asked the party leaders to wage a war to oust Naveen Patnaik and reach the goal of 272+ Lok Sabha seats.

Mitra maintained that as of now the party has no alliance with any other political party in the state for the coming elections nor is it keen to enter into an alliance.

He, however, said nothing can be predicted in politics hinting that the final decision lies with the central leadership.

“As of now, we have no truck with any other party. The party is preparing to contest on its own strength. However, the central leadership will take the final decision on whether there is a need for an alliance with other parties. You can’t predict anything in politics,” said the Rajya Sabha member.

Party leaders today assembled to draw up a strategy for the 2014 elections and discuss how to make the convention on February 11, which will be attended by BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, a grand success.
