Nearly 4,000 new COVID-19 cases in Odisha; here’re district-wise details

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continues to report nearly 4,000 COVID-19 positive cases for the second consecutive day today.

In the last 24 hours, as many as 3996  persons, highest single-day spike so far, in the state tested positive for the deadly virus taking the state’s total count to 1,43,117. Yesterday, the state had reported 3991 cases.

Of the total fresh cases detected from 30 districts, 2359 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1637 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.

Khordha recorded highest 606 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (354) and Puri (279).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 34458.  However, 1,08,001 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that total 50,044 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 2323641  tests have been conducted in the state.
