Odia jawan found dead near railway track in Haryana

Baripada: A jawan of the Indian Army from Odisha was found dead near railway track in Haryana, yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Chandrakant Sejapada (34) of Khanua village under Badasahi police limits in the district. He was posted in Rajasthan.

According to reports, Chandrakant had come to the village for his sister’s wedding on May 3. After completion of the event, he boarded a train on May 9 to return to Rajasthan.

As he didn’t reach the workplace, the concerned authorities of the Army telephoned him. However, there was no response. Later, they carried out a search operation to trace him.

Yesterday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body which was lying near the track under mysterious circumstances. The GRP informed the Army authorities and family members of the deceased about the incident.

The body of the jawan will be brought to the village tomorrow, where the final rites will be carried out.

A pall of gloom descended on the village after the death of Chandrakant.
