Odisha: Vacancies in judges cadre to be filled this year

Cuttack: The vacancy positions in the cadre of district judge will be filled during the year 2019, said a notification published on the official website of Orissa High Court.

As per the notification dated April 12, Out of the 27 vacancies advertisement for filling up of 8 vacancies shall be made by way of Direct Recruitment from the Bar, 14 vacancies shall be filled up by promotion through Limited Competitive Examination and the remaining 5 vacancies shall be filled up by Usual Promotion.

Currently, there are 15 vacant positions in the district judge cadre in Odisha. Eight more posts are likely to be vacant within one year due to retirement on superannuation, voluntary retirement and elevation to the Bench and death and four anticipated vacancies for the next one year due to creation of new courts.
