Odisha: Akshaya Mohanty’s wife no more

Cuttack: Ollywood’s legendary music director and singer Akshaya Mohanty’s wife Prabina Mohanty passed away here yesterday evening.

She died of cardiac arrest at her residence at Sheikh Bazaar in Cuttack. She was 73. She is survived with two sons and three daughters.

Prabina was believed to be a moving force behind success of her husband Akshaya Mohanty, who was popularly known as ‘Khoka Bhai’. She had been staying with her children after death of the music maestro of Odia film industry in 2002.

Born in 1946 in Jagatsinghpur district, Prabina was the Ravenshaw Girls High School alumna. She had married Akshaya Mohanty in the year 1967.
