Berhampur: Odisha Vigilance officials today arrested a sub-inspector of police for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000.
The accused has been identified as Sidharta Kumar Gouda, cadet sub-inspector, Jagannath Prasad Police Station in Ganjam district.
As per reports, he had demanded the amount from one P. Raja Senapati to settle a dispute complaint. Senapati lodged a complaint in this regard with the anti-corruption agency, following which a trap was laid by the sleuths.
The vigilance officials caught the cop red-handed while he was accepting the money from the complainant. The bribe money was recovered and seized from his possession.
A case has been registered in this connection and further probe was underway.
