Odisha govt diverted contingency fund for political gain: BJP

Bhubaneswar: The BJP has accused the Odisha Government of using its contingency fund for gaining political mileage.

MLAs of the saffron party in Odisha today met Governor Ganeshi Lal at Raj Bhavan here and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

The legislators have alleged that the State Government infringed constitutional provisions to “meet political end”.

“Odisha Government has increased the contingency fund from Rs 400 crore to Rs 1400 crore to spend the amount for the purpose of Kalia Yojana and Madhu Babu Pension Yojana prior to General Election-2019 to gain the political end,” the memorandum read.

The MLAs sought intervention of the Governor in the matter and action against the government.
