Odisha issues Covid guidelines for December; here’re what’s allowed, what’s not

Bhubaneswar: Continuing with its unlock process, the Odisha government today stated all types of shops and malls shall remain open across the State from 5 AM to 10 PM every day.

The government, however, stated night curfew will be imposed in the urban areas of the State from 10 PM to 5 AM every day, while issuing guidelines for the month of December.

It further said there shall be graded unlocking throughout the State with effect from 5AM of December 1, 2021 till 5 AM of January 1, 2022. There will be no weekend shutdown across the State, the guideline added.

Cultural gathering, melodies, orchestra, jatra, open air theatres shall be allowed to open with due compliance to Covid protocols. For indoor halls, the numbers of viewers and spectators shall not exceed 50% of the seating capacity of the hall.

Cinema halls and theatres will be allowed to open with up to 50% of capacity and operate with due compliance to Covid protocols.

However, the person having double dose certificate and rapid antigen test negative report obtained within 72 hours prior to the function will be allowed to attend the function

Similarly, marriages, thread ceremony, funerals and related gatherings with approval from local authorities will be allowed with a ceiling of 250 persons. Adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols at such functions is a must, the guideline stated.

Meanwhile, the State government prohibited social, religious, political gathering, exhibitions, trade fairs, expo, and melas.

“Any person violating the lockdown measures shall be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Covid-19 regulations 2020, besides legal action under Sec 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions as applicable,” the guideline stated.
