Odisha launches employment web portal

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister launched a web portal for proper verification of employment and training process in the system.

Reviewing the government recruitment process at a high level meeting at state secretariat here on Thursday, Patnaik directed the officials to fill up the vacant posts as soon as possible.

The state government has approved for recruitment in 90,465 posts, out of which the appointment has been made in 46,500 posts so far.

Chairing the meeting, Patnaik advised to conduct combined recruitment for similar posts apart from executing the recruitment calendar prepared by various employment commissions. In order to make the recruitment process transparent, emphasis will be laid on developing the skills of newly appointed candidates during their training period.

As the recruitment process is getting delayed due to legal issues pending in various courts, the CM asked all the departments to sort out those by consulting the Advocate General (AG).

Notably, the government is considering to create another 5,244 posts for speedy operations in all the departments. There were 10,964 posts lying vacant in blocks, out of which only 6,400 posts have been filled so far.
