Odisha to form taskforce to chalk out master plan on future exigencies due to Covid

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared a Taskforce will be constituted to look at immediate needs as well as holistic planning for future exigencies amid the raging second wave of Covid-19.

The move will further strengthen the oxygen management and help prepare a master plan for the State, the Chief Minister added.

Seeking cooperation of Legislators of Odisha in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today stated the MLAs can spend up to Rs 50 lakh from MLALADs for Covid management related activities.

During an all-party meeting called by State Assembly Speaker SN Patro today the Chief Minister as people’s representatives they have a large influence on the public mind and urged them to educate people about Covid appropriate behaviour.

He announced the Government will allow expenditure from MLALADS up to Rs 50 lakhs for assisting in activities related to Covid management, including procurement of masks from Mission Shakti groups to distribute it among poor.

It’s a long fight and we have to be prepare our people through awareness he stated.

Patnaik further informed the Government has already recruited 786 Doctors and 5,137 Paramedics to augment manpower at Government-run Covid hospitals and Covid Care Centres. More medical personnel will be recruited on contractual basis for which the process is on, he added.
