Odisha youth attacks girl with knife after she refuses for ‘outing’

Pipili: A youth attacked a girl with a knife injuring her critically at Ekchalia village in Pipili area of Odisha’s Puri district today after she refused to go with him on an outing.

The victim, a student of Pipili college, sustained injuries on her thighs and has been hospitalised.

According to reports, the accused, hailing from Gop area in the district, came to the village where the girl resides and asked her to come with him for an outing.

As the girl refused to do so, he attacked her with a knife. Hearing screams of the victim, villagers gathered at the spot, thrashed the youth and handed him over to police.
