Over 1000 ‘Made in England’ bullets seized from septic tank in Odisha

Jeypore: More than 1000 bullets were today seized from a septic tank behind District Industries Centre here in Odisha’s Koraput district.

According to police sources, some labourers, who were engaged in cleaning the septic tank, found the bullets inside a plastic container and informed cops about it following which police reached the spot and seized the bullets.

It is mentioned in the seized items that these have been manufactured in England.

“The bullets belong to British era as ‘Made in London’ and ‘Made in Winster’ are engraved on the bullets,” said Prabhat Prabhat Kumar Pradhan, Additional SP of Jeypore.

On the other hand, police suspect these bullets of having connection with an incident of huge cache of bullets robbed from Jeypore palace 30 years ago.

Investigation into the matter is on and forensic examination of the bullets will be conducted, police said.
