Over one kg brown sugar seized in Odisha’s Balasore, 4 held

Balasore: The Sahadevkhunta police today seized around 1.6 kg of brown sugar worth over Rs 1.5 crore and arrested four persons in this connection in Odisha’s Balasore district.

Acting on a tip-off about illegal trading of the drug, police raided a place at Pacha Chhak on the outskirts of Balasore town and arrested Sheikh Maksad (35), Sheikh Raju (30), Sheikh Abusen (28) and Sheikh Jamshed Ali (53) for their alleged involvement in the incident.

A car has been seized from their possession, police sources said, adding that the four were carrying out the illegal activities on the pretext of fish trading.
