Pay Rs 30, get COVID-19 negative report in Odisha

Paradip: Local police today arrested a person in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on charges of producing forged COVID-19 negative report to people.

The Abhaychandpur police arrested one Kalindi Tarai of Dalimbapur village in the district.

Police sources said it is mandatory for the workers at the Paradip Oil Refinery to produce COVID-19 negative report in order to get permission to continue work at the refinery. The accused took advantage of it and sourced forged documents to the workers for a nominal charge of Rs 30, sources added.

While he was minting money with this unfair practice, police somehow came to know about it and raided his house. He was reportedly running his shop since last few months.

A laptop, printer, rubber stamps and other incriminating documents were seized from his house. While the accused has been arrested, police are investigating further into the incident.
