Ranji Trophy: Karnataka poised for big lead against Odisha

Odisha bowlers failed to contain Karnataka as the visitors went on to score 288 for four taking a lead of 62 runs in their first innings on the second day of the Group-A Ranji Trophy match being played at DRIEMS ground at Tangi on Friday.

Resuming their overnight score of 22 without loss, the visitors lost the wicket of MK Agarwal when the score was 43.

Robin Uthappa was not in his element and got out for 33.

However, KI Kaul and Manish Pandey defied the Odisha bowlers as they added 114 runs. While Kaul made 67, Pandey remained not out with a fine knock of 108.

For Karnataka, Kunal Kapoor scored 25 before being run out by a direct throw from Alok Sahu.

For Odisha, Basant Mohanty, Deepak Behera and Niranjan Behera claimed one wicket each.

With six wickets in hand, the visitors are poised to take a big lead.
