Rs 1.27 lakh snatched away from retired Odisha port employee

Two unidentified motor-cycle-borne miscreants snatched cash bag containing Rs 1.27 lakh from a retired Paradip Port Trust employee this afternoon near the busy Madhuban market of the seaport town in Odisha.

Patitapaban Senapati, a retired employee of Paradip port had just withdrawn the said amount from a nationalized bank.

When the elderly man walking back to his house located close to the bank, two miscreants came on a motorcycle from behind, snatched the handbag and disappeared even before he could raise an alarm. They sped away on their bike, said Inspector Paradip police station, Bichitrananda Samal.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim, police have registered a case under section 392 (robbery case) of the IPC and launched a manhunt to nab the looters.
