Sushil Chandra appointed new Chief Election Commissioner

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind today appointed Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra as the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). Chandra replaces Sunil Arora who has retired.

Chandra was appointed as the 24th Chief Election Commissioner will demit the office on May 14, 2022. As the CEC, Chandra will oversee the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur States.
