This Odisha district clamps Sec 144 at temples ahead of ‘Pana Sankranti’

Jagatsighpur: Anticipating large congregations during forthcoming ‘Pana Sankranti’ and ‘Jhamu Yatra’, the Jagatsinghpur district administration clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 at different places of worship in the district from April 13, 2021.

Jagatsinghpur District Magistrate Sangram Keshari Mohapatra stated in an order issued today that immediate prevention of Covid is desirable. If the situation is not properly checked immediately, it may lead to undesirable consequences, Mohapatra stated.

As per the order, gathering of more than four persons in and around temples in the district are prohibited. The Sec 144 will remain in force till April 14, 2021.

Following are the temples in the district where the prohibitory orders will be in force from tomorrow:
Maa Sarala Temple, At- Kanakpur under Tirtol Tahasil, Grameswar Temple, At- Panchapalli under Erasama Tahasil, Nilakantheswar Mahadev Temple, At- Korua, under Naugaon Tahasil, Maa Bhagabati Temple at Parahat, Maa Jagulai Temple at Nagapur, Nilakantheswar Mahadev Temple at Khaleri, Kanakeswar Mahadev Temple at Daagaon under Balikuda Tahasil, Gateswar Mahadev Temple, at Bionla, Muchkunda Mahadev Temple at Somnath Hat, under Jagatsinghpur Tahasil, Sri Sri Gorekhnath Mahaprabhu Bije Kerekera under Raghunathpur Tahasil, Dhyankud Jagannath Temple under Biridi Tahasil.
