Train mishap: Odisha CM to visit the spot on June 3

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep concern over a major train accident in Balasore district of Odisha today.

The Chief Minister said saving lives of injured passengers is now the top priority of the government.

The Chief Minister visited the SRC Office in the evening and took stock of the situation.

“Our first priority is to take injured persons to hospitals and save their lives,” Patnaik told to media persons.

The Chief Minister will visit the accident site tomorrow morning and review the situation, sources said.

Chief Secretary PK Jena informed the Chief Minister about the situation. The CM had earlier deputed Revenue minister and a team of senior officers to the spot to monitor and expedite rescue operation.

Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, Information & PR Secretary Sanjay Singh and Transport Secretary Usha Padhi were present at the review meeting.
