Trainee SI killed as truck runs over him in Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: In a tragic incident, a truck ran over a trainee SI of police killing him on the spot at Gotma Chhak under Jonk police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district, today.

The deceased was identified as Sudhanshu Shekhar Pandey of Baira village under Boden police limits in the district.

According to reports, Sudhanshu had come to visit his family members for celebrating Nuakhai festival with them. While he was travelling on a motorcycle in the nearby market this morning, a coal-laden truck hit the two-wheeler, as a result of which he fell from the vehicle and the truck ran over him.

Police have seized the truck and detained its driver for questioning.

Sudhanshu, who earlier served as a constable, was recently promoted to the post of SI. He was undergoing SI training in Angul.
