Undertrial prisoner found hanging at Jharpada jail in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Body of an undertrial prisoner was found hanging inside Jhardapa Special Jail in Odisha capital today.

The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Biswal. The body was spotted by other prisoners early this morning, following which they informed the jail authorities who recovered it.

Police have started investigation into the incident sending the body to the Capital Hospital here for post-mortem.

Worth mentioning, Biswal was lodged in the jail in connection with a rape case.

Notably, the deceased had recently attacked his own advocate inside court premises here.
