Video of two girls stripped naked, thrashed by youths goes viral in Odisha

Sambalpur: A video featuring a shameful act of two girls being stripped naked and thrashed by several youths has gone viral in Odisha.

The BJP Mahila Morcha today lodged a complaint in this regard at Sambalpur Town Police Station after meeting the SP. A case has been registered into the incident and a team has been formed to probe into the matter, a police official said.

Though the location where the incident was recorded is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the youths committed the act in Sambalpur area as they were communicating with each other in Sambalpuri dialect.

Worth mentioning, several similar videos had come to fore last year following which Odisha Police DG RP Sharma issued an advisory to all the district SPs and public to check circulation of such videos on the internet.

A video of a group of men chasing, molesting and harassing a college student in Bargarh despite her repeated pleas to spare her had surfaced. Similarly, another video of some youths forcing a girl to remove her clothes at a forest in Keonjhar had come to fore.

Likewise, a video featuring a girl being being stripped naked by a group of youths in Mayurbhanj had gone viral on social media besides sending shockwaves across the state.
