Bijapur: Maoists produced CoBRA Jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who was taken hostage by them on April 3, in a ‘praja court’ at an unidentified location in Chhattisgarh today afternoon. The video footage of the ‘praja court’ is in possession of the website.

In presence of hundreds of villagers and some media persons, the red rebels brought the CoBRA jawan with hands tied to the praja court. After a Maoist leader presented his views, the CoBRA jawan was released from captivity and handed over to the media persons.

The CoBRA commando was held captive by the Maoists in Chhattisgarh for over 100 hours after the April 3 gun battle.

Rakeshwar Singh, a constable of the 210th CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), an elite wing of the CRPF, was safely handed over to the state police and to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today evening.
