Youth burnt alive inside shop in Odisha’s Balangir; family alleges murder

Balangir: In a tragic incident, a youth was burnt alive inside a shop while he was sleeping inside it near PP Academy Chhak in Odisha’s Balangir town last night.

According to reports, Suraj Kheti (23), who was running a betel shop near Balangir Law College, had slept inside it last night.

The shop caught fire around 12.40 AM, following which Fire personnel recahed the spot and doused the flames. Later, Suraj’s charred body was spotted inside the gutted shop and recovered.

The body has been seized by police and sent for post-mortem.

On the other hand, the family members of the deceased have alleged that the shop was set on fire by some youths over past enmity with Suraj.
