Youth critical in acid attack in Odisha capital

A youth suffered critical burn injuries after he was attacked with acid by miscreants at Jagannath Vihar in Rasulgarh area of Odisha capital late last night.

According to reports, the miscreants led by one Abhi Ojha allegedly threw acid at the youth, identified as Bhagirathi Bej (24), and set him on fire when the latter was returning home. They fled the spot soon after the incident.

Bej sustained critical burn injuries on his face and hand and has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

Police have started investigation into the incident. Ojha was arrested by Mancheswar police later in the day.

The incident is suspectedly an outcome of past enmity.
