Huge cache of ganja seized, seven arrested in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Sept 7:

In a big success, Odisha police seized about two tonnes of ganja near Somnathpur village under Balimela police limits in Malkangiri district and arrested seven persons in this connection on Tuesday.

The arrested have been identified as Lachhu Padhani, Mangalu Ganda, Mahadev Bhadra, Gyani Harijan, Tulasiram Tarki, Laket Bhadra and Budu Bhadra.

According to reports, Balimela police noticed a group of people carrying huge cache of unknown consignment packed in sacks at the time of patrolling near Somnathpur about 5 pm yesterday and raided on suspicion of something wrong.

The miscreants tried to run away in fear leaving the load following the raid.  The patrolling team nabbed seven persons and seized the consignment which was later identified as marijuana.

The market value of the seized ganja is estimated to be Rs 2 crore.
