13 killed, 25 injured as truck overturns in Odisha’s Kandhamal

Baliguda: At least 10 persons lost their lives and more than 25 others were critically injured after a mini-truck carrying them overturned at Poiguda ghat under Baliguda police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district today.

Around 40-50 persons were onboard the truck and the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels at a curved portion of the road following which it turned turtle and fell into a gorge.

The truck was on the way to Brahmanigaon from Gadapur carrying the victims for an event. The injured ones have been admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for treatment.

Transport Minister Nrusingha Charan Sahu had directed the Kandhamal RTO to probe into the incident.
