2-YO girl tests COVID-19 positive in Odisha

Balasore: Of the two new cases reported from Balasore district today, a toddler has tested positive for COVID-19, informed Health and Family Welfare Department.

A two-year-old girl of Nilgiri area and a 32-year-old man have tested positive for coronavirus in the district. The toddler’s swab sample was taken on April 16 and she was detected positive today. Her entire family has been asked to remain under quarantine and  further contact tracing is underway, Sub-Collector Harishandra Jena had informed earlier in the day.  

Besides Balasore, five persons from Bhadrak (five men aged 48, 55, 57, 58 and 66) tested COVID-19 positive taking the total number of cases in the state to 68. The number of active cases in the state stands at 43 while 24 persons have so far been cured and discharged from hospitals.
