22 students fall sick in Odisha’s Dhenkanal after lizard found from MDM

Dhenkanal: As many as 22 students of Kodibhanga Primary School under Hindol block in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district fell sick today after consuming mid-day meal (MDM) from which dead lizard was allegedly found.

Moments after having the lunch served at the school, the students complained of nausea, headache and vomiting. One of the students reportedly found a dead lizard from the meal and informed school authorities about it.

They were immediately rushed to Hindol sub-divisional hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.

An official of the district administration said action will be taken against anyone found responsible for the incident after an inquiry.
