26 girl students test positive for COVID-19 in Odisha tribal school

Baripada: As many as 26 girl students of a tribal school tested positive for COVID-19 in Mayurbhanj district.

The infected students of Chamakpur Tribal Residential School under Thakurmunda Block have been put under isolation on premises of the institution.

Source informed that the contact tracing of all 26 students is underway. And 300 students of the school will undergo COVID-19 test today as part of COVID safety protocol.

Earlier this week, 53 students of a high school in Sundargarh district and 31 students of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla, Sambalpur district, were found positive for COVID-19. Later, the COVID tally in the state-run medical college and hospital rose to 56 as more students tested positive for the virus.
