4 months after joining Maoists, 18-year-old girl surrenders in Odisha. Know why

Koraput: An 18-year-old female Maoist namely Chitren Pangi of Malkangiri surrendered before Odisha police in Koraput district today, merely four months after she joined the rebels.
Being fed up with anti-people attitude of the outlawed CPI (M), she left the party, police sources said, adding that she was also disgusted with unfair treatment towards Odia cades in comparison to Telugu and Chhatisgarhi cadres.
She joined CPI (M) in May, 2017 and was operating in Chitrakonda and Machkund area. She was an active member of Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee group and also trained as a team doctor.
“As per her preference, she wants to complete her education after surrendering and the local administration will provide assistance in this regard,” said Koraput SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.
