Panel formed to inspect condition of Jagannath temple kitchen in Odisha

Justice B P Das Commission of Inquiry on Sri Mandir reforms formed a five-member committee of servitors to inspect the condition of kitchen of the century old shrine in Puri.

The Commission asked the panel to submit the report within a month about cleanliness and clean water used for cooking at the kitchen.

The panel has been constituted to systematize and properly manage the preparation of Mahaprasad, sources said.

Earlier, the Commission had landed in controversy for expressing its opinion for examining the quality of Mahaprasad at the temple.

The holy Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath is prepared by over 100 servitors for more than 10,000 pilgrims daily at the temple’s kitchen.
