Odisha Plus Two admission: 10% seats increased in tribal region

Bhubaneswar: Providing another chance to get admission into Plus Two courses in junior colleges, Odisha government increased seats by 10% for the matric pass out students in rural and tribal regions.

Ten percent seats will be increased in the colleges where all the seats will have been filled in other junior colleges apart from the government-run colleges after second phase admission, said School & Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra.

The local students will be benefited with the move of having fresh admission. The seats will be increased for this academic session, he said.

Besides, the student having admission into one college but interested to get enrolment in the college of his/her choice has been given another chance.

As per the decision, 3,401 eligible slide up students can get admission in the colleges between August 17 and 19.

The students can apply for the admission on 10% increased seats and the seats lying vacant after second phase admission online through Student Academic Management System (SAMS) by August 20. They will submit the print copy of the application by August 21 at SRC. The meritorious list will be out on August 24. The admission process will be completed by August 30, said a notification of School & Mass Education.

Worth mentioning, around 86,000 seats are lying vacant in junior colleges even after two phases of admission in Odisha.
