COVID-19: This area of Odisha’s Berhampur declared as access control zone

Berhampur: Sankarpur Street here was today declared as access control zone by the Berhampur Municipal Corporation for containing spread of COVID-19 in the area.

On the basis of local inputs, it is being apprehended that there might be good number of persons residing in the area who might have come in contact with some positive cases for which it is necessary to declare the street as access control zone to safeguard the public and control the spread of COVID-19 through active surveillance, Berhampur Municipal Corporation sources said.

No public shall be allowed to move into the access control zone and the inhabitants within the access control zone shall remain in home quarantine till further orders, an official order said.

All the inhabitants within the access control zone shall strictly remain in home quarantine. All the shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately. The supply of essentials and medical requirement will be ensured through various teams formed by BeMC, the order added.
