Aircel, Micromax to share channel, retail networks

Cellular provider Aircel on Wednesday announced its partnership with handset maker Micromax here for joint sharing of channel, retail networks and sales resources.

The company launched new reverse handset bundling offers up to Rs 12,000 per month for new Aircel subscribers on a Micromax handset.

The local calling price on both 3G and 2G users will come down to one paisa per two seconds and one paisa per second for STD calls for three months.

The new Aircel subscriber will also have 2GB free data including 2G and 3G data per month for three months and free WAP content worth Rs 10,000.

Speaking on the occasion, Aircel Businees Head, Odisha Circle Dhiraj Israni said, “According to a recent study, mobile internet user are set to grow by 4 to 5 per cent by 2020 and the smart phone penetration is set to increase five times to 50 per cent in the country.

In his address, co-founder of Micromax, Vikas Jain said this partnership would further provide a major boost to better connectivity.
