AJAPC organizes CFR title distribution ceremony in Odisha

The Anchalika Jungle Adhikar Parichalana Committee (AJAPC), affiliated to Campaign for Survival and Dignity (CSD), Odisha, consisting of 3 village panchayat of Balandapada, Luisingi and Pahiraju in Phirigina block of Kandhamal district, organized Community Forest Rights (CFR) title distribution ceremony at Balandapada village on July 26.

bolangir AJAPCAround 400 community people of these three village panchayats took part in the programme.

On the occasion, CFR titles were handed over to 62 villages of these village panchayats by Pranati Patro, PA, ITDA, Kandhamal, Navin Patel, tahasildar and Sushil Kujur, BDO, Phiringia.

The function was presided over by AJAPC president Gopinath Kahar.

Sharing his observations on the implementation of Forest Rights Act (FRA) in Kandhamal district Dr Manohar Chauhan, member, Campaign for Survival and Dignity (CSD), Odisha, acknowledged the struggle of the local people for the enactment of the historic FRA and congratulated AJAPC for the CFR titles.

Admiring the commitment and contribution of the district administration in the FRA implementation in the district, he said because of the consistent efforts of the district administration, Kandhamal district is leading the FRA implementation in the whole state.

Gopinath Kahar and Bairag Kahar, advisors of AJAPC, spoke on the struggle for the enactment and implementation of Forest Rights Act (FRA) in the district.

Among others, Zilla Parishad member Angada Kahar and all the PRI members in Prabhati Nayak (sarpanch), Balundapada GP, Ranjita Kahar (Phiringia Block chairperson), Sudarsan Kahar (sarpanch), Luisingh GP, Shyam Sundar Kahar, Biswa Ranjan Kahar (all AJAPC advisors) also spoke.
