Amit Shah to hold roadshow in Odisha’s Puri on April 9

Puri: BJP national president Amit Shah is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Odisha’s Puri town on April 9 as a part of his election campaign.

The roadshow will commence in front of Singha Dwara of the Shree Jagannath Temple here and culminate at Badasankha. A preparatory meeting of the BJP over Shah’s Puri visit was held here last evening in the presence of party’s Puri Lok Sabha constituency candidate Sambit Patra.

Shah is also scheduled to visit Odisha on April 7 and address public meetings in Bargarh and Polasara. The BJP has a mammoth task in hand for the Odisha polls as the party is aiming to register victory in more than 120 assembly constituencies of the state and ensure ‘double engine’ (formation of BJP government both at Centre and Odisha).

The Puri Lok Sabha seat is poised to witness a triangular contest between BJD candidate and sitting Puri MP Pinaki Mishra, saffron party candidate Sambit Patra and Congress nominee Satya Prakash Nayak.

Notably, Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha will be held simultaneously in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29. Puri Lok Sabha constituency and all Assembly constituencies falling under it will go to polls in the third phase on April 23.
